Wendy Martin - Vocalist
(Director of Temple Acoustic)
Wendy has vast experience in soul, blues, jazz, rock and pop and is an accomplished pianist as well as experienced in percussion and ukulele.
Having studied and achieved a higher professional diploma at The Voice College London, Wendy Martin is a qualified vocal coach. As well as being the lead singer for the UK leading range of Temple Bands, she also sings for the Joe Loss Orchestra, has sung for Kevin Thorpe’s 'Out Of The Blue', has supported Van Morrison at Maryport rhythm and blues festival, performed live at Earls Court Arena, London and has been performing across the UK in some prestigious venues and overseas for private functions and residencies for the past 18 years. Among the list of ever growing UK venues Wendy has performed are, The Ned, Soho House, The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Earls Court Arena, Main stage Oxford festival, The O2 and Crowne Plaza London.
Marius Ptas Slikkerson - Guitarist 1
Professional session guitarist Marius Ptas-Slikkerson honed his skills sharing the stage from a young age with some of the world’s finest Grammy Award Winning jazz musicians such as Wlodek Pawlik, Jim Mullen and Philip Achille.
His career has seen him play some of the world’s finest stages and festivals including Apollo Theatre in New York, Rockhal Area In Luxembourg, North By Northwest Philadelphia, Poland’s prestigious FAMA festival, an impressive list of UK concerts including The 02, Isle of Wight Festival, Rhythm of the World festival, Queen Elizabeth Park Olympic Stadium and London’s famous Jazz Café. Most recently Marius embarked on a USA tour with UK singer-songwriter Juliette Ashby to Austin Texas’ SXSW festival 2014. Marius performed 4 impressive showcases including a press dinner for the launch of Russell Simmons (CEO Def Jam) & Steve Rifkind's new label ADD52‟ at Samsung Music Experience, and global super blogger Perez Hilton's „One Night In Austin‟.
Ptas has supported X Factor’s James Arthur, Olly Murs, Brit Nominee Laura Mvula, Ella Eyre, VV Brown and Brian McKnight. Marius has played multiple BBC Radio live tours and sessions including Radio 1.
Scotty Watson - Guitarist 2
Scott has been a highly acclaimed professional guitarist/singer/songwriter for more than 15 years. He has studied jazz from a young age but his styles range anywhere from Rock, to pop, to funk, to hip-hop, to blues. He has a unique, flamboyant and captivating style and is also no stranger to some incredible loop pedal work.
Scotty has written a number of songs for well known artists and has collaborated with the sound sculpture on a number of documentary films. Scott’s experience of live performances, ranges from main stages of Glastonbury music festival, live TV appearances, and BBC Radio 1 performances, to opening music at award ceremony’s.
James Middleton – Drummer/Percussionist
Growing up in a musical family, James began lessons an drums at 5 and 9 respectively and later studied with the esteemed French professor of percussion, Gabriel Alonso.
Like many musicians, playing in church provided the perfect space to develop musically along-side some of the worlds most talented and respected gospel artists, including multi-million selling artist Martin Smith and writer Chris Easton (Cliff Richard, Art Garfunkel, Roger Daltrey).
James started gigging in various live venues at the age of 13 and found himself working as a recording drummer/percussionist and backing vocalist in his early teens. Having a hugely varied interest in musical styles, James’s passion for studio work has seen him record with artists as wide-ranging as the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra to Ibiza’s Café Del Mar. As a session drummer, James has been a go to for producers at the world famous Abbey Road and Chapel Studios to name but a few. James has worked as an in-house recording drummer and song-writer for EMI records and has received both national and TV exposure for his playing, production and writing work with the Indie band ‘The Rays’. His love of house music has seen him tour extensively as a percussionist on the club scene with artists such as Hed Kandi, Defected records, legendary UK dance producer Nick Hussy and Simon Bartholomew of the Brand New Heavies. Busier than ever, James continues to perform across several genres both live and in the studio.
Colin Henney - Pianist
Colin first perched on his Gran’s knee aged 4 to play her upright piano in Glasgow.
Largely self-taught, a good many years later - and having converted (though not entirely) to electric keyboards - he now gigs and tours regularly with a number of bands and also undertakes session and depping work. He plays across a broad range of genres, and so his repertoire has encompassed RnB, soul, blues-rock, country, jazz-funk, Scottish folk, jangly pop, indie and fusion.
Whilst he has recorded, and continues to do so, his main passion lies in live performance.
Colin has appeared and/or recorded with Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Martin Allcock (Fairport Convention Jethro Tull) and Mark Bedford (Madness). He has toured in northern Europe and Scandinavia with The Krissy Matthews Band, and made six successive appearances from 2012-2017 with The Heavy Dexters and then The Shapes at Truck Festival in Oxfordshire. With nominees Journey Home he played at the British Country Music Association awards at the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton in 2017.
